Bob Render is the Business Development Manager Sustainability for Ravago Recycling Group, part of the Ravago family of resin distribution companies. Based in Belgium, Ravago’s global sales were over $ 11 B in 2019. RRG assists companies and organizations introduce recycled content into their products and set up closed loop recycling programs to re-use their own scrap to reach their sustainability goals and the goals of their customers.

Bob researches and brings new recycling technologies to Ravago to explore and commercialize. These include non-mechanical recycling processes such as de-polymerization of PET, PS, nylon, and PE as well as filtration of PP and conversion of mixed plastics to new polymers. Other projects include advanced sorting of mixed plastics, 100% recycled rackable plastic pallets, engineered blends of PCR and virgin resins.
Bob was president of Maine Plastics, a post-industrial plastics recycler from 1994 to 2010 and created A Greener Solution, a sustainability consulting and management company which was sold to Casella Resource Solutions in 2013. A Greener Solution designed and implemented sustainability programs in over 250 plants and managed over 2 billion pounds of by-products.
Bob is the past chair of the Plastics Industry Association Recycling Committee and now serves as a national board member. He is and an active participant in HPRC (Healthcare Plastics Recycling Counsel), APR, ACC Advanced Recycling Alliance for Plastics and a board member of the Recycling Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers.
